How meditation heightens our creativity

Quieten the Mind and access the Soul

There is enormous stress in the world at the moment….what with the corona virus, climate change, political and economic uncertainty….Whew! It came as no surprise when my art students came into the studio asking me to start with a guided meditation (which I have been trained to do!).

What was created after our meditation was nothing short of breathtaking. If you watch the video, you will see mixed media and collage work flowing like a waterfall in the studio. You will also notice the uniqueness of each person’s artwork. When we quieten the mind, we can access our deep well of creativity. You can read my other blog on “The Healing Power of Art” where you can read about one woman’s struggle with mental illness and how art saved her.

Hopefully you will be inspired to join one of our workshops in the future and discover the value of mindful creating. Check out the schedule at www.theart-process.com.

After my first  class I was hooked.  I felt so calm and relaxed during the 3 hour session. This is a very unique setup. The studio is an extension of Kathy’s lovely art-filled home.  It looks out over her yard with views of lush green mountains.  I was given two fun and clever projects to work on while she gave me some instruction on how to add texture to my work.  I left feeling very inspired.
