Sharing the benefits of silence in my art classes

5 days of silence in the mountains near Los Angeles

I’ve begun to realize that you can listen to silence and learn from it. It has a quality and a dimension all its own.

I’ve just returned from a 5 day silent retreat in the snowy mountains: unplugged, off the grid and rejuvenated. Without a question, the silence and lack of distraction at this retreat allowed me to understand where my creativity springs from and how to tap into that deep intuitive space that allows it to flow. While I was there I made some mixed media and collage pieces in my journal:unplanned, intuitive and easeful. I did not feel any stress related to what I was doing, just the freedom to express what that deep well wanted to show me.

Read my blog on “Creative Wellness” to learn more on the subject.

That is what I try to teach in my art classes, workshops and retreats. I want EVERYONE at all levels from beginners to advanced, to FEEL the benefits of creativity and enjoy the ART PROCESS. You can LEARN MORE about my mindful mixed media and collage classes and events in Los Angeles.

My one day mixed media and collage workshops are like “mini retreats” where you can drop in and find out about how we incorporate creative wellness into our program.
